Hoi An

We spent one week in Hoi An and it was possibly our favourite place so far! We stayed on Cam Nam island at Village Love Homestay, which was the best room we’ve had so far and included breakfast and free bike rental (which was needed as we were a couple of kilometres out of the old town!)

FWIW though we loved the bike rides, and we found a couple of places we probably wouldn’t have found otherwise, like K’noy’s cafe, run by a beautiful family who we fell in love with!  Their gorgeous labrador puppy Bunny, cute older and wiser Soo (who is male, so maybe I spelt his name wrong…?) and K’noy, the namesake of the cafe, a 7 month old baby! The dad of the family and manager Vong is super welcoming and chill. We found out he is also a film producer and the cafe is a new venture, having only opened a couple of months ago – so we felt very lucky we were there after it opened! Needless to say, we spent quite a lot of time here sipping ice coffee and cocktails 🙂

Other highlights included our evening boat ride (mostly to see all the engaged couples around us being photographed – it is a huge deal in Hoi An!) and eating Hoi An specialities such as white roses and banh xeo.

We’re in Phnom Penh now in Cambodia, which so far has been a bit of let down – mostly because I’ve been a bit under the weather, which is a shame. We’re off to Koh Rong tomorrow though for some island beach time so I hope that will make me feel better!
